On July 25, 2017 at approximately 6:36 a.m., the Poinsett County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call stating that a crop duster plane had gone down in a field southwest of Trumann near Maple Grove Lane. The call was transferred to Trumann EMS. The pilot was Micheal Darin Walton age 49 from Trumann, AR. Walton was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition. The reason the plane went down is still under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
