On June 30, 2021, the Poinsett County 911 Center received a 911 call at approximately 12:47 pm. The caller stated that he had found his son, John Woodard 3rd of Memphis, deceased laying not far from his sons truck.
The Poinsett County Sheriff's Office, Medic One, Arkansas State Police, and the Poinsett County Coroners Department responded to the scene at approximately 12:58 pm. The scene was processed by criminal investigators. No foul play is suspected. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
55 year old John Woodard 3rd of Memphis, TN was positively identified as the deceased person.

****Update, 4:15 pm, 06/30/2021****
When deputies arrived at the scene, the father of the person found deceased, and another family member were on the scene. Both live in Memphis, Tennessee. The father stated to the deputies that the individual found was his son John Woodard 3rd. The father advised deputies that he had not seen his son in about a day. He said he received a call this morning from a person who said they had seen his sons truck on the side of I-555 around mile marker 21. At approximately 12:40 pm, the father located his sons truck at that location. He then found his son's body. It was at this time he realized his son was deceased and called 911.
