2 Arrested for Burglary and Drugs
During the early afternoon hours of April 24, 2018, deputies responded to a residence outside of Harrisburg in reference to a burglary. The homeowner noticed his front door was open and discovered that several guns had been stolen. Later that afternoon, deputies received information that Archie Dakota Smith was a possible suspect and he was with Nash Noah Qualls.
Deputies went to the Qualls residence on Hwy. 214 to follow up on the case. When deputies arrived at the residence, Qualls fled on foot through the wooded area behind his residence. Deputies were able to secure Archie Dakota Smith at the residence while other deputies searched for Qualls in the woods.
A perimeter was established and the Poinsett County K-9 was able to track Qualls and locate him hiding in the woods. He was taken into custody without incident. At the residence, deputies located three of the four firearms stolen during the residential burglary. In addition to the stolen firearms, deputies also located drug paraphernalia, suspected methamphetamine, and an additional handgun. Both suspects were arrested and taken to the Poinsett County Sheriff's Office. Their charges are as follows:
Archie Dakota Smith, 18, of Harrisburg is charged with Residential Burglary, Felony Theft of Property, and Tampering with Physical Evidence
Nash Noah Qualls, 29, of Harrisburg is charged with Residential Burglary, Felony Theft of Property, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possession of a Firearm by Certain Person, Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine), Possession of a Controlled Substance (marijuana), and Fleeing by Foot
