Harrisburg, AR - A foundation has been established to assist the Poinsett County Sheriff's Office with projects related to officer safety, professional development, and community protection that extend beyond the Sheriff's Office's normal operating budget.
Through the Poinsett Sheriff's Foundation, citizens can provide charitable contributions to address the needs and support the programs of the Sherriff's Office such as equipment and technology upgrades, advanced training and development courses for deputies, and community outreach programs.
The Poinsett Sheriff's Foundation has received nonprofit, 501(c)3 status through the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
With nonprofit status, contributions to the foundation are tax deductible.
"By establishing a foundation for the Sheriff's Office, generous supporters of law enforcement can contribute to the safety and well-being of our deputies and to the protection of our community. While the County budget covers basic operating expenses for the Sheriff's Office, the foundation fills areas of need that may otherwise go unaddressed. Equipment wears out. Technology changes. Through donations to the Sheriff's Foundation, we may be able to address these needs more quickly and without any additional burden to taxpayers," states Sheriff Molder
To view the needs of the Poinsett Sheriff's Office and the projects supported by the foundation, visit the Sheriff's Foundation website.
Pledges and contributions to the Poinsett Sheriff's Foundation are currently being accepted. Checks may be mailed to the attention of Jeremy Lally at 1500 Justice Drive, Harrisburg, AR 72432. Online donations may be made through a secure payment portal on the foundation's website.
Individuals or local clubs and organizations interested in partnering with the Poinsett Sheriff's Foundation in fundraising may contact Sheriff Kevin Molder at 870-578-4445 to learn more.
